You’ll be supported every step of the way by experienced tutors and a team that understands the realities of working in childcare. From day one, you’ll be gaining real experience in a nursery or preschool, learning as you go and building the skills you need to succeed.
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner
Ideal for: Anyone starting out in childcare
Duration: 12–15 months
Entry requirements: No qualifications needed – just a passion for working with children
This entry-level apprenticeship is designed to help you start a career working with babies and young children up to 5 years old. You’ll learn how to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and grow.
What you’ll learn:
- Child development and early brain development
- Supporting speech and language
- Helping children learn through play
- Safeguarding and keeping children safe
- Working as part of a nursery team
What you’ll get:
- A nationally recognised Level 2 qualification
- The chance to progress onto Level 3
Level 3 Early Years Educator
Ideal for: Those with some experience or ready to take on more responsibility
Duration: 15–18 months
Entry requirements: Ideally GCSEs in English and Maths, or you can study them alongside
This advanced apprenticeship is for those who want to take the next step and become a fully qualified Early Years Educator. You’ll lead activities, support learning and development, and make a real impact in children’s early years.
What you’ll learn:
- Planning and delivering play-based learning
- Promoting emotional wellbeing and resilience
- Supporting children’s development and transitions
- Working with parents and carers
- Creating inclusive learning environments
What you’ll get:
- A nationally recognised Level 3 qualification
- Your licence to practise as a qualified Early Years Educator
Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner
Ideal for: Experienced practitioners ready to step into leadership
Duration: 18–24 months
Entry requirements: Experience in childcare and/or a Level 3 qualification
Looking to move into a leadership or senior role in a nursery? This higher-level apprenticeship develops your skills as a confident and knowledgeable leader who can support children, staff, and the setting as a whole.
What you’ll learn:
- Leading high-quality practice across the setting
- Coaching and mentoring other staff
- Developing curriculum and planning for learning
- Improving outcomes for children
What you’ll get:
- A Level 5 qualification
- Pathways to senior roles like Room Leader or Deputy Manager
