Paediatric First Aid covers the unique first aid situations that may arise when caring for babies and children under the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The blended 2 day course will meet national requirements for registered childcare providers and provide staff with the confidence to handle emergencies involving younger children.

Key learning includes:

  • Managing an unconscious child or infant
  • Paediatric CPR and safe defibrillator use
  • Choking, seizures, head injuries and allergic reactions
  • Asthma, diabetes, meningitis and febrile convulsions
  • Wounds, bleeding, burns, bites and stings
  • Recording and reporting requirements for childcare settings

This training will support schools, nurseries, and childcare providers in meeting statutory safeguarding and welfare requirements while providing staff with practical, confidence-building skills.
