System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

We help hundreds of Education professionals in Cumbria find suitable work in many schools which includes day to day and long-term opportunities and we are always looking for new candidates to join our register to meet the ever-growing need for high quality supply cover.

About the role

We are seeking a caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Nursery and Infant school in a full-time role, Monday to Friday (8.30am–3.05pm), starting after half term and continuing until the end of the summer term.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistent, nurturing support to two part-time nursery pupils, helping them feel secure, understood, and ready to engage in their early learning experiences.

In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide tailored support for pupils with ADHD and Autism. You will play a key part in helping them access learning, develop social skills, and build confidence within a structured and supportive environment. Strong, positive relationships and a calm, patient approach will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to two part-time nursery pupils

  • Implement strategies to support the pupils

  • Help pupils access learning through adapted, play-based activities

  • Support social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Follow and contribute to individual support plans

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure consistent support

  • Monitor progress and share feedback with the wider team

  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence

  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times

Entry Requirements

Experience working with young children in a nursery or infant setting

Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ADHD and Autism (essential)

A calm, patient, and nurturing approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to follow structured routines and implement targeted strategies

Relevant Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all children
