About the role

We’re looking for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join the experienced and friendly team at Richmond Hill Primary School. This KS2 role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, adaptable, and ready to support a lively group of learners. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to support children across the classroom, including pupils with additional needs. The school’s warm and supportive environment makes this a great place to start your career in education while developing confidence and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the class teacher with learning activities across KS2

  • Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging engagement

  • Providing tailored support to children with SEN

  • Helping to create a calm, inclusive classroom environment

  • Assisting with small-group or one-to-one work when required

  • Preparing resources and supporting the smooth running of lessons

  • Promoting the school’s values and contributing to the wider life of the school

Your future career with us

At the end of your apprenticeship, you may be considered for a role directly within the school. System People also offers progression to the Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant apprenticeship for those who wish to continue developing their skills and responsibilities.

Training & Development

This Level 3 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of 14 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will be via Zoom) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.

Entry Requirements

You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this program, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the program.
