About the role
Hallbankgate Village School are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join them in September! The successful applicant will be working with pupils in KS2 supporting their individual development needs, especially with literacy and numeracy.
There will be the opportunity to develop an understanding of inclusive practice working with pupils in class, small groups and on a 1:1 basis. Support will be given from experienced staff and a mentor will be provided to support your own personal development.
Essential qualities include being able to develop and sustain good relationships with the pupils and staff, the ability to use your own initiative, be able to take advice and act upon it and seek support when needed.
It is also important that you have a good level of maths and English and we would like applicants to hold a grade 4/C in both subject areas. If you are confident and have great communications skills with a passion for supporting pupils we would love to hear from you!

Training & Development
This Level 3 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of between 12 –18 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will be via Zoom) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program. System People have fantastic pass rates and won the “BEST Training Provider Award” at the Golden Apples in 2019 and have been awarded a “Good” rating by Ofsted 2021.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this programme, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the programme.
