About the role
We’re looking for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to support a secondary school in Workington on a temporary, supply basis. This role involves delivering pre-prepared lessons, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and ensuring pupils stay on task in the absence of the class teacher.
You’ll be joining a supportive team and will play a key part in keeping learning running smoothly across different subjects. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and feels comfortable leading a classroom.
Key Responsibilities

Supervising classes and delivering set work to pupils

Managing behaviour and keeping pupils engaged in learning

Supporting pupils with tasks and clarifying instructions where needed

Communicating any issues or feedback to teaching staff

Helping to maintain a calm, positive classroom environment

Covering a range of subjects across the school as required
Entry Requirements
Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (school experience is beneficial)
Confident classroom presence and strong communication skills
Ability to manage behaviour in a fair and consistent way
Adaptable and comfortable working across different subjects
A positive, professional approach to supporting learning
