About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Drama/English Teacher to join a large, vibrant secondary school with a strong commitment to creativity and academic excellence, on a temporary, full-time basis for the Summer Term.
This role will begin after the Easter break and run for the duration of the Summer Term, offering the opportunity to teach across both Drama and English. You will play a key role in engaging students through both creative expression and the development of strong literacy skills, helping them to build confidence in performance as well as in reading and writing.
You will be joining a supportive and collaborative department where innovation and sharing of ideas are encouraged. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about both subjects and enjoys bringing learning to life in dynamic and engaging ways.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Drama and English across Key Stages 3 and 4

Inspire students through creative teaching approaches and practical activities

Support the development of students’ reading, writing, speaking, and performance skills

Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on pupil progress

Prepare students for assessments and examinations where appropriate

Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department

Contribute to lesson planning, schemes of work, and resource development
Entry Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Ability to teach both Drama and English to a secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for both disciplines
Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
Good classroom management skills
A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
