About the role
Little Explorers Pre-School is looking for two enthusiastic Early Years Educator apprentices to join their friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing a Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship.
Apprentices will help with daily activities, support children’s learning and development, and assist the team in creating a safe, engaging and nurturing environment.
Candidates should be hardworking, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with children. As the nursery is based in Cleator Moor, applicants need to be local or able to drive, as public transport in the area is limited.
Key Responsibilities

Support the team in planning and delivering fun, engaging activities for children.

Assist with the daily care and supervision of children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Encourage children’s learning, curiosity, and independence through play and exploration.

Help maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming nursery environment.

Support snack and mealtime routines, including hygiene and dietary needs.

Observe and record children’s progress to support their development.

Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Follow nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety.

Successful apprentices may have the opportunity to continue working at Little Explorers Pre-School after completing their apprenticeship, gaining further experience and developing their career in early years education.
Training & Development
This Level 3 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of around 17 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will be via ZOOM) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the programme.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this programme, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the program.
