About the role
Shap C of E Endowed school is a lovely rural school that plays a fundamental role in the local community.
School are looking to recruit a brand new Early Years apprentice (either Level 2 Early Years Practitioner or Level 3 Early Years Educator) to join their dedicated and successful team in their nursery provision. If you have a passion for caring for and supporting the development of young children this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Due to the rural location you will need to consider transport options or be a driver to access this school reliably.
Essential criteria for this position includes, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for working with young children and a strong commitment to teamwork and development.
Key Responsibilities

To provide a full range of play-based activities allowing each child to develop to their full potential, following the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

To help children and team members maintain our excellent hygiene standards at all times, e.g. Nappies and changing, feeding, toileting, changing clothes, preparing snacks and meals.

Establish an excellent knowledge of each child and family, developing and maintain good relations and communications with parents/carers to facilitate each child’s individual needs.

To ensure that the equipment (inside and out) are appropriate for the age and stage of the children for whom they are intended and that they are kept well maintained and clean at all times.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there may be the opportunity to continue with further professional development to include, gaining higher level qualification or employment within the school team.
Training & Development
You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will be via ZOOM) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the programme.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end of this programme. Therefore, if you do not already hold a grade 4/C in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional Skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent).
