System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

About the role
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Functional Skills Level 2 English Tutor to join our team and deliver engaging online sessions to adult learners. This is a remote role, with teaching taking place online, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys flexible working while still making a real impact on learners’ progress.
The main teaching commitment is during the second week of every month (Monday to Thursday), delivering Level 2 English sessions. In addition, we are seeking someone who can support with learner inductions on the 4th Thursday of every month. This role would suit someone who is organised, approachable, and confident delivering clear, supportive online teaching.
Key Responsibilities

Delivering engaging Functional Skills Level 2 English sessions online

Supporting learners to build confidence in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and exam preparation

Planning and preparing lesson materials suited to online delivery

Tracking learner progress and providing constructive feedback

Delivering learner inductions on the 4th Thursday of each month

Creating a positive, welcoming, and inclusive online learning environment

Communicating effectively with learners and the wider team
Entry Requirements
Experience delivering Functional Skills Level 2 English (or equivalent)
Confidence teaching and engaging learners online
Strong subject knowledge in English
A friendly, supportive, and learner-centred approach
Relevant teaching or tutoring qualification (desirable)
Reliable internet connection and access to appropriate technology for online delivery
