System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

About the role
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a English Lecturer to join a welcoming Further Education College community in a full-time role for three months. This is a great chance to support learners in developing their confidence in reading, writing, and communication, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
In this role, you will create engaging and supportive learning experiences that encourage students to enjoy and succeed in English. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team of colleagues, contributing to a positive and inclusive college environment where every learner feels valued and motivated to do their best.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to learners across a range of abilities

Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

Assess student work and provide clear, constructive, and encouraging feedback

Track learner progress and maintain accurate records of achievement and attendance

Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs

Support learners with their academic development and study skills

Work collaboratively with colleagues to share resources and best practice

Uphold safeguarding and college policies at all times
Entry Requirements
Relevant qualification in English or a related subject
Teaching qualification (preferable)
Experience teaching in a Further Education or similar setting (desirable)
Strong subject knowledge and passion for English
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A positive, patient, and supportive approach to working with learners
Commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for all students
