About the role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in a small coastal town for the Summer Term 2025–2026. This is a temporary, part-time position, Monday to Wednesday, teaching a class of 30 pupils.
This is a key stage in their pupils’ primary journey, and we are looking for a confident practitioner who can provide clear structure, strong preparation for transition to secondary school, and a positive end to Year 6. The class includes three pupils with IEPs and there is Teaching Assistant support each morning to help ensure pupils are well supported.
Our school prides itself on strong relationships, a supportive staff team and a calm, purposeful learning environment. This role would suit someone who combines high expectations with a thoughtful and encouraging approach.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced lessons in line with the Upper KS2 curriculum

Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-year assessments and transition to secondary school

Differentiate learning to meet a range of needs, including pupils with IEPs

Work closely with the morning TA to provide targeted support

Assess, track and report on pupil progress

Create a focused, positive and respectful classroom environment

Communicate effectively with parents and carers

Contribute to the wider life of the school during your working days

Uphold safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing at all times
Entry Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Recent experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Strong understanding of SATs preparation and end-of-year expectations
Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Ability to manage a class confidently and maintain high standards
Good organisational and communication skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
