About the role

We are pleased to be recruiting for a caring and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a small, rural primary school after Half Term. This is a temporary, part-time position (16 hours per week) working on a two-week cycle.

Set in a peaceful rural setting, the school offers a nurturing and supportive environment where children are encouraged to explore, create and develop confidence in their early learning journey. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and values being part of a close-knit school community where relationships matter.

The working pattern is as follows:

Week 1:

  • Monday 9:00am–1:00pm

  • Tuesday 9:00am–12:00pm

  • Wednesday 9:00am–12:00pm

Week 2:

  • Monday 9:00am–1:00pm

  • Wednesday 9:00am–12:00pm

  • Thursday 9:00am–12:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS provision

  • Work with small groups and individual children to support early literacy and numeracy

  • Encourage learning through play, exploration and structured activities

  • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development

  • Help to prepare and maintain a stimulating learning environment, both indoors and outdoors

  • Observe and contribute to assessment of children’s progress

  • Provide positive behaviour support in line with school policies

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents where appropriate

  • Promote safeguarding and the wellbeing of all pupils

Experience working within an Early Years setting

Relevant Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification

Good understanding of the EYFS framework

A patient, calm and encouraging approach
