System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

About the role
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a dedicated Year 1/2 Teacher to join a welcoming rural primary school on a full-time basis, starting after Easter and continuing until the end of the summer term. This role is ideal for someone who values a close-knit school community and enjoys teaching in a setting where every child is truly known and supported.
The mixed Year 1/2 class is full of curiosity, energy and enthusiasm for learning. We are looking for a teacher who can provide a calm, engaging and well-structured classroom environment, helping pupils to build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and personal development. You will become an important part of our supportive staff team and wider school community, contributing positively to school life.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver creative, well-sequenced lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum

Differentiate learning to meet the needs of pupils across Year 1 and Year 2

Create a positive and purposeful classroom environment

Assess, monitor and record pupil progress

Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and senior leaders

Communicate effectively with parents and carers

Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate

Uphold safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing at all times
Entry Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1
Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment expectations
Confidence in teaching early phonics and early maths
Ability to manage a mixed-age class effectively
A caring, patient and positive approach
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
