System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

About the role
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with EYFS experience to join a welcoming school community in a part-time role working Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is a lovely opportunity to play a key part in supporting young children at the very start of their learning journey, helping them build confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to create a positive, safe, and engaging environment where every child feels supported and encouraged. You’ll provide both academic and pastoral support, building strong relationships with pupils and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils as needed

Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

Assist with preparing learning resources and setting up learning areas

Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

Observe and share feedback on pupil progress with teaching staff

Encourage positive behaviour and promote the school’s values

Uphold safeguarding procedures at all times
Entry Requirements
Experience working in EYFS, ideally within a school setting
A caring, patient, and positive approach to working with young children
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to support inclusive practice and a range of learning needs
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
