System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (KS2) to join a friendly and supportive school community in a full-time role starting after February half term and continuing through to July 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity to become a valued part of a collaborative team that is passionate about helping children grow in confidence, curiosity, and achievement.
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to help create a positive and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels supported and encouraged to do their best. You’ll play an important part in both academic and pastoral support, building strong relationships with pupils and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging KS2 lessons and activities

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils as needed

Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment

Assist with preparing learning resources and classroom displays

Support pupils with their social, emotional, and behavioural development

Observe and feedback on pupil progress to the class teacher

Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff

Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the school’s values at all times
Entry Requirements
Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS2
A good understanding of the primary curriculum and classroom support strategies
Strong communication and organisational skills
A positive, patient, and nurturing approach
Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting all learners
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
