About the role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Specialist to join a large, dynamic secondary school with a strong focus on high-quality teaching and learning on a temporary, part-time basis.
This role will begin after the Easter break and continue for the duration of the Summer Term, with working days on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. You will be supporting the delivery of engaging and effective science lessons, helping students to develop their understanding and curiosity across the subject.
You will join a supportive and well-resourced Science department, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure students are well prepared for their assessments. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about science education and enjoys working as part of a team to inspire young learners.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver and support high-quality science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Engage students in practical and theoretical aspects of science

Support students’ progress and understanding across biology, chemistry, and/or physics

Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on pupil progress

Help prepare students for assessments and examinations

Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

Work collaboratively with the Science department

Contribute to lesson planning and resource preparation
Entry Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant subject specialism
Strong knowledge of science (biology, chemistry, and/or physics)
Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
Good classroom management skills
A collaborative and positive approach to teamwork
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
