About the role
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Secondary Teachers and Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the Barrow area. Opportunities are available on both a short term and long term basis, with flexible working patterns to suit availability.
These temporary roles offer the chance to work within supportive and welcoming school environments, helping to maintain continuity of learning and positive classroom experiences for students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Whether you are an experienced teacher, an ECT, or an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for your next opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
Successful candidates will be adaptable, confident in the classroom, and committed to supporting young people both academically and pastorally.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects (Cover Supervisors)

Plan and teach engaging lessons within your specialist subject area (Teachers)

Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment

Support students’ academic progress and engagement in lessons

Adapt teaching and support strategies to meet a range of learning needs

Follow school policies relating to safeguarding, behaviour and wellbeing

Provide feedback to teaching staff and school leaders where required

Build positive relationships with students and colleagues

Contribute positively to the wider school environment
Entry Requirements
Experience working with secondary-aged students
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for teaching roles
Relevant classroom/transferable experience for Cover Supervisor roles
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Flexible and adaptable approach to working in different school settings
Ability to build positive relationships with young people
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
