About the role

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a lovely rural primary school on a part-time basis, working three days per week, 8:30am to 3:30pm, starting in September on a longer-term basis.

This varied and rewarding role offers the opportunity to support pupils across different stages of the primary curriculum. One day each week will be split between supporting children in EYFS during the morning and KS1 during the afternoon, while the remaining two days will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Key Stage 1.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning within EYFS during morning sessions

  • Assist with activities that promote early learning, communication and social development

  • Provide classroom support within KS1 during afternoon sessions

  • Deliver dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil on two days per week

  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs

  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive engagement with learning

  • Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement agreed strategies

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff as required

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times

Entry Requirements

Experience working with children in a primary school setting

Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis is desirable

Understanding of EYFS and KS1 learning and development

A patient, caring and adaptable approach

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
