We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Carlisle. This is a full-time role to provide maternity cover, with one period beginning shortly after Christmas.
The school has a high level of SEN support needs. Because of this, experience working with children with additional needs is essential. You’ll be part of a committed staff team, supporting pupils across the school to access learning, develop key skills, and feel confident and included in their classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including those with EHCPs

Assisting the class teacher with learning activities, interventions, and daily routines

Providing one-to-one or small-group support where needed

Helping to create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Encouraging pupils’ communication, confidence, and independence

Recording observations and sharing updates with teachers and the wider team
Entry Requirements
Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting
A patient, confident, and proactive approach to supporting learning
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Relevant TA qualification
