About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and committed Teaching Assistant to join a thriving Key Stage 2 team from September. This is a temporary, full time opportunity within a large, busy primary school that is proud of its welcoming atmosphere, supportive staff team, and positive learning environment.
Initially offered for six weeks, this role may be extended for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, is passionate about helping pupils succeed and can make a positive contribution to both the classroom and wider school life.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning and development across Key Stage 2. You will help create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and encouraged to achieve their full potential. The role involves supporting individual pupils, small groups, and occasionally whole class activities, helping children to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
You will play an important role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting pupils’ wellbeing and ensuring that all children can access the curriculum effectively. Key Responsibilities

Support teaching and learning activities within the classroom.

Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.

Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and activities.

Encourage pupil engagement, participation, and independence.

Support children with varying learning needs to access the curriculum.

Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm and purposeful learning environment.

Assist with classroom displays and maintaining an organised learning space.

Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and achievement.

Support pupils during break times, educational visits, or other school activities as required.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupil outcomes.
Entry Requirements
Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within a school setting.
A positive, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
Understanding of effective classroom support strategies would be advantageous.
