About the role
Are you passionate about Health & Social Care and inspiring the next generation of learners? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming college in Workington for a full time teaching role within their Health & Social Care department. Starting in September, working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (37 hours per week) this role offers an excellent opportunity to join a supportive educational setting and make a real difference to students’ learning and development. Whilst the position is temporary, the duration of the assignment is currently unknown.
The college is seeking an individual with experience, qualifications, or a strong background in Health & Social Care, Psychology, or a related subject area. You will be responsible for providing teaching cover across the Health & Social Care curriculum, delivering engaging lessons that motivate and support learners to achieve their full potential. Whether you are an experienced lecturer, teacher, trainer, or an industry professional looking to move into education, this rewarding role offers the chance to share your expertise, support student success, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

Entry Requirements
Experience teaching, training, lecturing, or delivering learning within Health & Social Care or a related subject
Qualifications in Health & Social Care, Psychology, Nursing, Social Sciences, or a closely related field
A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential, depending on experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage and motivate young people and adult learners
Good organisational and classroom management skills
An understanding of safeguarding and promoting learner welfare
