About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistants to join a thriving primary school from September on a temporary basis. The school is a large, busy one and are proud of their vibrant learning environment, dedicated staff team and wonderful children who are eager to learn and succeed.
There are currently two Teaching Assistant vacancies available: one full-time role and one part-time role. Both positions involve supporting children across Reception to Year 2, working closely with class teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and welcoming team in a school where relationships matter and every child is encouraged to flourish. Working across the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, you will provide classroom support, deliver small-group and individual interventions, and help create engaging learning experiences that inspire young children to develop a love of learning.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s development during these important early years and who can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families. Whether working one-to-one, with small groups, or alongside the class teacher, you will play a key role in helping children grow in confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.

Key Responsibilities

Support teaching and learning across Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and develop key skills.

Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom activities and resources.

Support children's social, emotional, and behavioural development.

Help to maintain a positive, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

Encourage children to develop independence, confidence and resilience.

Assist with the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.

Support pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.

Work closely with teachers and other support staff as part of a collaborative team.

Contribute to the safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils.

Support children during playtimes, lunchtimes and other school activities as required.
Entry Requirements
Experience of working with primary-aged children, particularly within EYFS or Key Stage 1, is desirable.
A warm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required.
Commitment to supporting children’s learning, wellbeing and personal development.
Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and child protection.
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications or equivalent are desirable.
A positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
