About the role
William Howard School are looking for an apprentice Teaching assistant to join their fantastic SEN department. You will have the opportunity to support pupils with additional needs across the year groups and all curriculum areas. If you are looking for a diverse role where every day holds new challenges and rewards enabling our pupils to reach their full potential this is the job for you.
We are looking for someone who is aged 18 or over, has a passion for working with SEN pupils, has excellent communication and the ability to be flexible in their role within the team.
Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils within whole class teaching

Delivering small group and 1:1 planned activities

Keeping accurate records of pupil progress

Ensuring the health and safety of the pupils within the school and on school trips

Supporting the academic, social and emotional development of the pupils

Working within the team to plan and support pupils linked to their Educational Health Care Plans

William Howard School have experience of supporting apprentices and have a great record of offering employment upon the successful completion of their apprenticeship.
Training & Development
This Level 3 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of 17 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will be via Zoom) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the programme.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this program, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the programme.
