About the role
Mayfield School are offering L3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeships.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join their specialised team, with their guidance and support you will gain valuable skills and experience learning strategies and best practice to help children and young people with SEND develop and reach their full potential. System People will deliver knowledge and support with your training whilst you work towards your L3 qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the class teacher and team with delivering learning activities

Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging their engagement

Providing tailored support to children with SEND, including the assessment process, reviewing and applying strategies.

Helping to create a calm, inclusive environment

Assisting with small-group or one-to-one work when required

Preparing resources and supporting the smooth running of the day

At the end of your apprenticeship, you may be considered for a role directly within the school. System People also offers progression to the Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant apprenticeship for those who wish to continue developing their skills and responsibilities. Our team will continue to share options and plan next steps with you.
Training & Development
This Level 3 apprenticeship is expected to last a period of 17 months. You will attend live tutor led sessions 2 days every month (1 day every other week which will be via Zoom) and participate in online interactive learning via our bespoke innovative platform OLLIE. Your Tutor will also visit you in the workplace for 1-2-1 Tutor sessions during the program.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English by the end this program, therefore if you do not already hold a grade 4 in these subjects, you will be required to carry out a short Maths and English Assessment to see if we are able to offer you Functional skills support to reach a Level 2 (grade C/4 equivalent) by the end of the program.
