About the role
We’re looking for a reliable and supportive Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming rural primary school near Brampton on a supply basis. This role will focus on providing SEN and small-group support in KS1, as well as delivering speech and language support to pupils who need extra help.
You’ll be helping children access learning, develop confidence, and enjoy their school day, while also providing general classroom support. The role is initially offered until 31st March 2026, starting as soon as possible.
Hours: Five afternoons per week, 12:00pm – 3:30pm (possibly until 4:00pm).
Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with SEN and delivering small-group interventions in KS1

Providing speech and language support as directed

Assisting with general classroom activities and routines

Supervising pupils at lunchtime and breaktime

Encouraging positive behaviour, communication, and confidence

Working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide consistent support
Entry Requirements
Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting
Understanding of speech and language support strategies
A calm, patient, and proactive approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Relevant TA qualification
