About the role
We are delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a small, welcoming village primary school. This is a temporary, part-time position working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, starting 1st June 2026 and continuing until 25th March 2027.
This village school prides itself on its strong sense of community and supportive learning environment, where every child is known and valued. In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team to support pupils in their learning, helping them to grow in confidence and achieve their potential.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit school setting and who is keen to make a positive difference to pupils’ daily school experience.
Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities

Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning

Assist with preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment

Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development

Encourage positive engagement with learning

Provide feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and participation

Supervise pupils during classroom activities and transitions where required

Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times

Work collaboratively with staff to support the smooth running of the classroom
Entry Requirements
Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a small, supportive team
A patient, reliable and encouraging approach
Flexibility and willingness to support a range of learning needs
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
