About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a lovely rural primary school on a part time basis, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. This temporary position will begin in September and continue until mid-October, with potential to be extended.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a welcoming school community where staff work closely together to support every child. The role will involve working across the whole school, supporting pupils of different ages and abilities, and assisting teachers in creating engaging and inclusive learning environments.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, proactive and enjoys building positive relationships with children. No two days will be the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and is passionate about helping pupils succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across different year groups throughout the school

  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning

  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson preparation

  • Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development

  • Adapt to the varying needs of different classes and age groups

  • Prepare and organise classroom resources as required

  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence

  • Supervise pupils during activities and transitions where needed

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times

Entry Requirements

Experience working with children in a school or similar setting

Ability to work confidently with pupils across a range of primary age groups

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A flexible, positive and reliable approach

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Good organisational skills and willingness to adapt to changing priorities

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
