System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

About the role
We are looking for a friendly, dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming school in rural Penrith throughout January. This role combines a full day on Mondays with morning sessions Tuesday to Friday, offering a great balance for someone who wants consistent weekly hours while still keeping part of their afternoons free.
You’ll work closely with the class teacher to help create a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment. Your support will make a real difference in pupils’ confidence, progress, and enjoyment of school. This is a lovely opportunity to join a supportive team and play an important part in children’s learning at the start of the new term.
Key Responsibilities

Supporting the class teacher with daily learning activities and routines

Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce key concepts

Helping to create a calm, inclusive classroom environment

Encouraging pupils’ confidence, communication, and independence

Assisting with classroom organisation, resources, and preparation

Supporting positive behaviour and wellbeing

Providing feedback to the class teacher about pupils’ progress and needs
Entry Requirements
Experience working with children in a school or similar learning environment
A warm, patient, and supportive approach
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Reliability and confidence working across different sessions and routines
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to pupil welfare
