System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

About the role
We are seeking a caring and committed KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a small, rural primary school, working in a mixed Year 4, 5 and 6 class. This is a part-time role, Monday to Friday (except Wednesday afternoons), starting after half term and continuing until the end of the summer term. It’s a lovely opportunity to be part of a close-knit school community where every child is known and valued.
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning across the upper key stage, helping pupils of different ages and abilities to thrive together. You’ll contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom environment and build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering learning activities for a mixed Year 4, 5 and 6 class

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils as needed

Help create a positive, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment

Assist with preparing learning resources and classroom activities

Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

Observe and share feedback on pupil progress with the class teacher

Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and teamwork

Uphold safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
Entry Requirements
Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS2
A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting learning
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to support inclusive practice and a range of learning needs
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils
