System People Education are the fastest growing education recruitment and teaching supply agency who have been finding work for local Teachers and TA’s since June 2012. We were the first teaching agency with offices in Cumbria and have grown organically, mainly from kind referrals from local teachers who have found work through us. We ‘meet’ with you to plan in an individual way and our experienced Education team will use this information to offer work – we all have local knowledge and value our relationships with candidates and schools.

About the role
We are seeking a caring and motivated Upper KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school community in a full-time role, Monday to Friday, starting after Easter. This is a wonderful opportunity to support pupils in Years 5 and 6 as they develop confidence, independence, and strong learning habits in preparation for the next stage of their education.
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. You’ll provide both academic and pastoral support, build strong relationships with pupils, and play an important part in the daily life of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities for Upper KS2 pupils

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils as needed

Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment

Assist with preparing learning resources and classroom displays

Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

Observe and share feedback on pupil progress with teaching staff

Encourage positive behaviour and promote the school’s values

Uphold safeguarding procedures and policies at all times
Entry Requirements
Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Upper KS2
A caring, patient, and positive approach to supporting learners
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to support inclusive practice and a range of learning needs
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one (desirable)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils
