About the role
We’re looking for a warm, committed, and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join our school community on a full-time basis. This role will run for 5 days a week from 6th January to 27th March, supporting our wonderful Year 1 class during an important stage of their early learning journey.
You’ll be stepping into a friendly, supportive environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and develop a love of learning. We’re seeking someone who brings consistency, positivity, and a nurturing approach to the classroom—someone who can help create a safe and engaging space for every child to thrive.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum

Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere

Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development

Assess and track pupils’ progress, providing constructive feedback

Communicate effectively with teaching assistants and wider staff

Work collaboratively with parents and carers as needed

Maintain a well-organised classroom and positive behaviour expectations

Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate
Entry Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in KS1 (Year 1 preferred but not essential)
Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy development
Ability to build positive relationships with young learners
Confident classroom management skills
A warm, patient, and reliable approach
Commitment to providing consistency throughout the full booking
