About the role

We are seeking an experienced and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a busy and thriving primary school on a full-time temporary basis, starting as soon as possible, continuing until the end of the academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils during a crucial stage of their primary education. You will take responsibility for a Year 6 class, delivering engaging lessons, maintaining high expectations, and helping pupils build confidence as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

The school is a vibrant and supportive environment with a dedicated staff team and enthusiastic learners. We are looking for a teacher who can quickly establish positive relationships, provide consistency in the classroom, and ensure that pupils remain motivated and engaged through their final weeks of primary school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum

  • Support pupils' continued progress across all areas of learning

  • Prepare pupils for the transition to secondary school

  • Assess, monitor and record pupil achievement and attainment

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils

  • Create a positive, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and school leaders

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers when required

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times

Entry Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Strong understanding of the Upper KS2 curriculum and end-of-primary expectations
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
Good organisational and communication skills
A positive, adaptable and professional approach
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
