About the role
We recruiting for a small, welcoming rural primary school at the heart of their community, who are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join them on a temporary, part-time basis. This role is focused on supporting our pupils in the lead-up to their SATs, helping to build confidence, consolidate key skills, and ensure every child feels prepared and supported.
Working three mornings per week (flexible days to be agreed), you will play a key role in delivering targeted teaching and intervention. You will work closely with the class teacher and leadership team to provide focused support in core areas, particularly English and maths.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with small groups, understands the importance of a calm and encouraging approach, and is passionate about helping children achieve their very best during this important stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver targeted teaching sessions to support SATs preparation

Work with small groups and individuals to reinforce key skills and address gaps in learning

Support pupils’ confidence, motivation, and wellbeing in the lead-up to SATs

Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and adapt learning activities

Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to staff

Create a positive, focused, and supportive learning environment

Contribute to preparation of resources and intervention materials
Entry Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs requirements
Ability to deliver engaging, targeted teaching to small groups
A calm, supportive, and encouraging approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
