Supply Teacher and TA salary increase!

This is the perfect time to get into (or back into!) the education sector, with a huge variety of vacancies in local schools and colleges.

Teacher Salary Increase

Teacher salaries are informed by the Teachers’ Pay Scale designed by the Department of Education and Skills. This allocates different teachers to different bands based on position, experience and location – teaching annual salaries are based on where you are on the Teacher Pay Scale.

Teachers are welcoming a long-anticipated wage rise as the government introduces a sliding scale increase to the salary bands ranging from 3% to 8%.

This salary increase will also be reflected in our post 12-week service rates for our supply teachers! With proof of teacher pay scale, our supply teachers will now have a daily rate increase (following 12 weeks of continuous employment for the same hirer) to the following:

M1 – £120.69

M2 – £128.45

M3 – £136.85

M4 – £145.91

M5 – £155.13

M6 – £167.29

Teaching Assistant Salary Increase

Permanent TA wages in Cumbria are rising by £1 an hour to £11.39 an hour. This is great news for our TA temporary workers, as after 12 working weeks on supply with the same employer they will also receive £12.99 an hour (including Holiday pay) from 1st Dec in line with Agency Worker Regulations.

Make sure you know your rights with our blog all about Agency Worker Rights and why you SHOULD be getting comparative pay (and potentially an increase) after 12 weeks in the same role!

Rates of pay prior for TAs to 12 weeks of service are currently £10.65 an hour (including Holiday pay).
